I was banned from Twitter for 48 hours

So, my husband was going through Pro wrestling Twitter on Friday and saw a post from AEW Champion MJF talking about Holocaust Day. One of the top responses was from a person going by @xchididdyx, where he went off on a rant talking about how the Holocaust was all a lie perpetrated by greedy people, and that it was all fake news…I’m paraphrasing here, but it’s the gist of it. Now, I remember my grandparents telling me about the history of the atrocities that happened during World War II because they were alive during that time and lived through it and had friends that were survivors. The parents of my closest friend were in concentration camps themselves, before immigrating to this country. So for me, it’s not just history.

So needless to say, this person’s words got reported, but it also pissed me off to the point that I responded. NOW, most of my close friends know that though I generally only look at Twitter for Music, Gaming, and Pro Wrestling news, and though I am an introvert, when I feel that something is wrong, I speak on it. So, I responded…true it wasn’t in the best way possible, but I let my anger speak, instead of taking a breath and waiting to reply. I made my post and then went about the business of the rest of my day. Sunday evening, when I try to log into Twitter to see the latest TWICE news, I find that I’d been banned for my response to @xchididyx’s stupid statement.

Apparently, @xchididdyx reported me for telling him that he needed to smack himself in the face for his asinine statement. Now, I admit that I let my anger get the best of me, but if I got banned for what I said, then I know for damn sure @xchididdyx should have been banned for the vile crap he said. If he deleted his post (which it looks like he did) then fine, but seriously…I appreciate Twitter caring about my well-being and all, but I honestly laughed at this situation. I contemplated keeping the ban for 14 days, because I felt so strongly against what this idiot said. True, I wholeheartedly believe that people should have the right to have their say, but I also think that when you say something stupid, you should be called on it fairly. Since I was called on my statement, this idiot should be called to task as well. It seems like he has and that’s good.

I just felt like for those that have never been banned on any social media site, you might want to see what it looks like for a first-time offender.
