Just a few thoughts on Pre-Dragonflight Expansion for returning players and former players of the WoW

  • Logging back into WoW for the first time since the beginning of Shadowlands, I immediately was pleasantly surprised by the change in the UI. Though I’d seen videos on how Blizzard may actually be trying this time with this expansion, I was still quite apprehensive about it, because of past practices.
  • Also, the graphics have even improved from the last I played the game in Shadowlands.
  • First negative…I made it all the way to Stormwind as a Demon Hunter and thought I would try to do the pre-patch event. I, unfortunately, found out that players have to be level 50+ in order to do the pre-patch event. This sucks and is detrimental to those players coming back to the game. The pre-patch event should have been at least level 15+ like in Final Fantasy XIV.
  • Finally made my Dracthyr, and I gotta say they put in a lot of options for this race at character creation. It looks as if they are trying so far.
  • First time trying to do the Pre-patch event and…the healer quit halfway through the first fight. It was the first time in the dungeon for the tank and me. After the healer left, pretty much everyone else left the dungeon.
  • While playing my Dracthyr, I am still annoyed that 1) I don’t have flying as an innate ability ( not having to use a flying mount), and 2) I have to purchase Flight Training. Dracthyr should be able to fly without the use of a mount. I find the inability very stupid.
  • Upon logging into my level 46 Hunter, I chose to go to Shadowlands for my level 60. When talking to Mograine about the events of what Sylvanas has done, he opens his death gate so that we can go to ICC in order to begin the Shadowlands campaign. Oh…but wait…I can’t go through the gate because I’m not level 48. What?! So either Chromie is a lying hooker, or Blizzard f’ed up big time with this Timewalk leveling thing If Shadowlands is an option for players to level through from Chromie, players should be able to go to Shadowlands synced in order to do so. There will be a lot of players coming back to the game, who haven’t played through Shadowlands. It shouldn’t be an option from Chromie for Timewalk leveling from 10-60 if the level required to start it is level 48.

I will have more to speak on now that the expansion has dropped.
