The members of Twice are back with Season 2 of their fun and charming workplace production, TDOONG Entertainment. Episode One was basically an origin to introduce what roles each member will be playing, and after reading some of the comments in the video, I figured I’d give a summary of each character for this seasons workplace drama. Also, this is just my opinion from my own perspective, and from the way they acted out their characters – so a grain of salt here.
Nayeon: Lim Nayeon, the green as grass interviewee that’s fresh out of school, and who feels nervous, anxious and low-key unprepared for adult life outside of school. I will say though that she seems to be the one who got the first interview and that’s a good sign.
Jeongyeon: She on a business trip, wheeling and dealing for the company. I, as well as all Once hope to see her back soon. She is most definitely missed.
Momo: (Staff) – The other type of free spirit…I don’t think she’s lazy. I think she’s the type of free spirit that’s on her own time schedule regardless of what’s going on around her, who prefers her vices a little too much sometimes.
(The Interviewee – “Mo-beom”) – An OCD germaphobe, who high key would greatly prefer to work from her pristinely clean home than an office writhe with God knows how many unseen microbes and diseases just waiting to attack. Also, she definitely despises being close to other people—I mean, who knows what germs they’re carrying. Also, she knows that she’s smarter than everyone else in the room, and is destined for leadership.
Sana: (Staff) – She’s the bubbly, shiny chaser of the office dynamic. She’s nice, engaging and generally fun to be around. That will be especially positive while in the creative process, because marketing is all about coming up with innovative ideas for selling brands and products. It’s just, being a shiny chaser myself, it’s good that she has a firm team lead in Dahyun to keep her shiny chasing on task.
(The Interviewee – “Sha Rich: The Daughter of the Company President”) – She seems like the stereotypical rich girl that’s never had to want for much in life, but who’s still cheerful, flirty and approachable enough not to have turn into a cynical, selfish ahole. Also, yes, you have to fill out the application. Lol!
Jihyo: (Staff) – I don’t know about the rich one, but she is in the position of having once been a team leader. She got demoted, and I don’t think she’s happy about that, but she wants her team to successfully complete their task in the project, and I think she will begrudgingly help Tzuyu who used to be her subordinate. She wants the company to do well, but I don’t think she quite likes the somewhat dysfunctional nature of the other teams within the project.
(The Interviewee – “President Park: Former Pharmacist and head of NaGasu’s fan club, moving into a new field”) – She is the seasoned one of the interviewee group. She’s been in the workforce for some time now, and after the events of “The Mystery of NaGasu’s Murder”, maybe she decided to move on and try something new. She smelled the fresh green newbieness wafting off of Interviewee Nayeon from the moment she lays eyes on her. In fact, I think she read all three of the other interviewees the moment she entered the room. She’s also the one with the most experience with the interview process, and I think she was low-key hoping to rattle the other interviewees, so she has a better chance of getting the job. Lastly, and most importantly, she’s an idol-obsessed fan at heart–that can be a problem. Lol!
Mina: She’s the firm, but fair Department Manager, that’s confident in her own skills and abilities to lead a project to completion. Now, it’s DM Mina’s task to wrangle in the rest of her teams into completing her overall vision for the project.
Dahyun: She’s the laid back, yet confident manager of the marketing team. She has the chops to keep Sana’s shiny chasing in line and get their part of the project done. I wonder though, I haven’t decided if she a bit of a butt kisser when it comes to DM Mina, or if maybe she has a bit of a workplace crush on her. By the end of episode one, I’m leaning towards the later.
Chaeyoung: She is the artsy fartsy, eccentric head of the A & R Team. It’s one of those positions that are made for free spirits, and she’s just enough of an “out of the box” thinker and has just the right knowledge and experience for the job. I think two free spirits (Chaeyoung and Momo) can work together well, if they can keep on task.
Tzuyu: She’s the new team lead. This is her first time leading, and though she has confidence in her abilities and skill, there’s still a nervousness about leading a team that I’m sure many of us have felt in the past.
Those are impressions so far. I gotta say that I laughed my ass off at the interactions of interviewees, especially when “Mo-beom” got scared, because she thought she might have touched one of the other interviewees, so she started spraying everything and everyone with what looked like a small bottle of hand sanitizer. I think that this season of TDOONG Entertainment maybe just as fun and lighthearted as Season 1, and I think we all need a bit of it in our lives right now.
What did you think? Leave a comment and remember the Golden Rule is in effect.
I think “Schemer” Dahyun has reared her head. She’s going after DM Mina’s position if Sana doesn’t distract her from her plans. Also, I love that Jeongyeon is the new artist that the team is trying to promote. Now if they can just get it together to get the project done.
