Kenny Omega documentary to premiere in Canada
Omega Man: A Wrestling Love Story is a documentary produced by Jockumentary Productions Inc. with Bell Media, and it follows the “Best Bout Machine” through the last few months of his career, as well as interviews from others, such as Chris Jericho and Dave Meltzer. The film will chronicle part of his history, as he rose to prominence and fame within the ranks of the greats who’ve graced the rings of New Japan Pro Wrestling. The documentary is directed by Yung Chang, and will premiere on TSN March 27th at 7:30PM. Though there is no word whether the documentary will air outside of Canada, a girl only hope.
More Talent headed to the WWE Performance Center
In their ever-growing need to sign up every wrestler with potential for greatness, the WWE are in the process of signing more to their already superfluous roster. Names such as Trevor Lee (formerly of Impact), Rachel Ellering (who previously appeared in the Mae Young Classic), and ACH (formerly of NJPW, ROH, and Pro Wrestling NOAH), among others have all either signed, or are in talks to join the rest at the Performance Center in Florida. They will be added to the likes of maybe Kushida and Garza, Jr., who are both expected to sign with the company. This will definitely bloat the rosters of both NXT and NXT UK, the latter of which who has recently signed top indie star, Walter to their ranks. Only time will tell, but honestly, I wouldn’t be shocked if this Saturday at Takeover: Pheonix, we fans get to see Kushida or Walter in the audience, as WWE recently.
The Nominations for the 91st Academy Awards were announced
It has finally happened and I can’t believe it. During this morning’s announcements, the news was revealed that the first ever superhero movie of the modern age has been nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture. I am in total shomazment. After reading the full list of the nominees, I’m actually interested in seeing the show this year. There are some good actors.

Just a few thoughts…
- I really hope they release this documentary either on YouTube or somewhere that I can see it. I love documentaries and behind the scenes films. They always fascinate me, and I feel like I’m getting a glimpse into how the magic is made, so to speak.
- So the WWE are hiring more and more talent. I know that for many the WWE has become a bit of a warm blanket. It’s become the place where “Hey! I may not be doing much with my talent, but at least I’m getting paid to be in the industry and have the job of my dreams. I don’t have to worry about living in my car, and not knowing if I’m going to eat or not.” My mom sang opera, and she also sang backing vocals on many a blues artist’s albums…some famous ones; but she also had a 9-5 working for a branch of the Federal and State government in my home state as well. I get it. She and my grandparents (who were also teachers) taught me the importance of getting a degree to fall back on if you don’t achieve your dreams. I just wonder though, if a wrestler wants to have a legacy of fame and longevity, how are they supposed to do that languishing in the current WWE system of hoarding and sitting wrestlers?
- This is the first year since the Lord of the Rings was nominated that I’m actually wanting to watch the Oscars. Congrats to Black Panther, and all that have been nominated. Shocked, I am.
