The streaming landscape may slowly be shifting in location

Streamlabs, the developers of the popular live streaming and recording tool, OBS (Open Broadcast Software) has released their quarterly report, and it finds a slow shift is happening. Though the number of active streamers using OBS has grown, it seems where they are streaming is currently shifting to sites like Facebook Live, YouTube, and Mixer, which has caused growth for Twitch to slow.

Haydn Taylor over at gameindustry.biz is reporting that Facebook Live’s active streamers have increased from this time last year by 23%, while over at YouTube, active streamers have increased by 21% last year’s Q4 numbers. This may have caused some slow growth for Twitch, as it has only risen in active streamers by 8% over last year. That being said Mixer isn’t doing as well. Though they have increased active streamers by 195% this year on the whole, for the last quarter, they have lost 2,000 active streamers since the second quarter of 2018.
