Ok after what I think will be the PPV of the weekend, Takeover: Brooklyn III, it’s time for my predictions for SummerSlam.
Kickoff Match
The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordan vs. The Miz & The Miztourage
Who will win – The Hardy Boyz & Jason Jordon
Creative are trying their best get Jordon over. Having said that, teaming him with Team Extreme won’t help his case. He should just go obnoxious heel for a while, and then make a turn to a face. Also, I’m glad the Hardy Boyz are participating in SummerSlam this year. I just hope that they put on a good showing.
What should happen – Another nail in the coffin of Team Extreme
I really want the Broken universe in the WWE. I really wish that the Hardy Boyz losing to the Miztourage would put the final nail in the coffin of Team Extreme, ushering in the Broken universe.
WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match Kickoff match
Akira Tozawa (c) vs. Neville
Who will win – Tozawa
It makes no sense for him to lose the belt this quickly, and disheveled Neville is interesting.
What should happen – Tozawa keeps the title
I find this despondent and lost Neville interesting. I feel as a fan that I don’t know what Neville’s gonna do next.
SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match – Kickoff Match
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos
I expect this to be a match of the night contender. Both tag teams are amazing workers, and they’ve had an amazing feud so far.
Who will win – New Day
Who should win – The Usos
They are just straight fire right now.
Big Show vs. Big Cass (with Enzo Amore suspended in a Shark Cage)
I could care less about this match. Enzo and Cass should never have been broken up. Creative could have had Enzo move to a working manager role, and have him manage Big Cass towards a singles career. This whole feud is stupid and a waste of time. Though, I will say, Big Show has done some of his greatest work this past year. He is definitely going out on a high note.
Who will win – Big Cass
Who should win – I don’t really care, but I would pop for a Big Show win.
Randy Orton vs. Rusev
Another match I don’t’ care about. Honestly, this match and the Cass/Big Show matches should be on the pre-show. I love both Rusev and Orton. That being said, I think Orton’s feud with Mahal has devalued him in some ways. Rusev is just coming back from injury, and the first, brief feud they put him in is with Cena? Waste. If this was supposed to be a feud, it was too short and too rushed. If this is just a grudge match, then they did a pretty good job.

Who should win – Draw by count out
Would make both wrestlers look strong, and they both kind of need it.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs. Natalya
This has the potential to be a really top shelf match. Natalya is an amazing wrestler and Naomi has been coming on strong.
Who will win – Naomi
Who should win – Natalya
It’s past time for her to have the belt. Even though she comes from a long lineage of amazing wrestlers and storytellers, Natalya has more than earned her spot in the title picture through hard work, solid skill, and determination. I think giving her the title is now is deserved and long overdue.
Raw Tag Team Championship Match
Cesaro & Sheamus (c) vs. Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins
Honestly, I don’t’ care about this match. I love that the Shield has partially reunited, but I don’t care who wins this match. Though, I’d love to see the full Shield reunite, to battle the eventual RoH invasion.
Who will win – Cesaro & Sheamus
Who should win – it’s a toss-up.
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Sasha Banks
I love both these wrestlers. Bliss is a great Cruella de Vil style heel, and she’s done well with the title so far. Banks is an all-around awesome talent. She is hitting on all cylinders and in any other world, there’s no way she should lose this match. Having said that, I think they are trying to set up an eventual Jax/Bliss match for the belt, so I don’t think Banks is going to win this one.

United States Championship Match — Shane McMahon as special guest referee
AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens
I really hope this is the blow off match.
Who will win – AJ Styles
Who should win – AJ Styles
“The Demon” Finn Bálor vs. Bray Wyatt
Love both of these wrestlers, but they are very much being done a disservice by creative. I don’t care about this feud at all.
Who will in – Toss up
Who should win – Toss up…though I think they should join forces and make a new faction.
John Cena vs. Baron Corbin
Don’t care about this match. I hope it is a good match though because Cena can and has put on some amazing matches in the past.
Who will win – Toss-up. Depends on Vince
Who should win – Toss up
WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Who will win – Naka-mura!!!
Who should win – Naka-mura!!!
Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way Match — If Brock Lesnar loses, he and Paul Heyman leave WWE
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman
Who will win – Probably Lesnar
Who should win – Anyone, but Lesnar. He should leave and Heyman should stay and form a new stable.
And there you have it…my predictions for this year’s SummerSlam. I really hope that this pay per view can deliver and actually be on par with last night’s Takeover. I mean this is the main roster’s showcase. There are more than enough amazing wrestlers on the main roster to pull off the pay per view of the weekend. I just hope Vince lets them cut loose and put on the matches that they have the ability to achieve.
