E3 2019 Preview

This year’s E3 is fast approaching, and as a gamer, I am very interested in what new games and properties will be announced this year, especially considering that next-generation consoles are looming on the horizon. Though there will inevitably be new entries from many of my beloved franchises like Gears of War, Halo, Assassin’s Creed, etc., I am most interested in more information and hopefully announced release dates for three games in particular ahead of one of the widely known gaming conferences.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Final Fantasy VII was the first RPG that I ever played back in my gaming formative years, and that game is the reason why I still love and play many games in the RPG genre today. For me, this game opened me up to a type of all-encompassing game that I could get completely immersed in, that could make me feel and give me the same enjoyment that I’ve always gotten for a good album or a great movie. The fact that they are remaking this game just excites the RPG nerd in me, and so far the teaser videos that have been released have ticked all nostalgia boxes in my heart. I can’t wait to get my hands on this game, and I’m really hoping that Square-Enix announces release date for the first chapter of this remake during their E3 conference.

Cyberpunk 2077

Ever since first hearing about this new IP from CD Projekt Red, the makers of the Witcher series, I have been greatly anticipating this game. Once I saw the gameplay preview video, the hype level within me for this game has only grown higher. This game graphically looks right up my ally, and if this game is anything like what gamers have come to adore about the Witcher 3: the Wild Hunt, I can expect to spend many hours of fun to come.

Square-Enix’s Avengers game

I loved the Spider-man PS4 game when it was released. The story of the game and the pure fun of swinging around New York City was a joy to my gaming heart. Though we currently know very little about the game, I am hoping that we can get a similar experience from a game about the Avengers. If Square-Enix can pull that off, this will definitely be a game that I will be buying when released.

As a gamer, I am chomping at the bit to see what new offerings the developers will be announced at this year’s E3. Along with games Baldur’s Gate 3 and the other series that I’ve stated previous, I am truly hoping that year and early next year we will be introduced to new and familiar worlds with new stories waiting to be told.

What are you looking forward to most? What games are you waiting to find more information on, or what would you like to see during the press conferences at this year’s E3? Be sure to post your thoughts in the comments, and thanks for visiting my little corner of the interwebs.
